To cleanse water, commercial reverse osmosis systems are employed. The raw water pump, chemical dosing system, FRP/stainless steel pretreatment tank (sand and activated carbon filters), SS304 cartridge security filter housing, high-pressure pump, FRP membrane pressure vessel, 4040 membranes, control panel, and touch screen composition all operate together to control the system. The most accurate membrane liquid separation process is reverse osmosis. To counteract the natural osmotic pressure, the concentrated solution and the intake water are subjected to an operating pressure.

Water molecules naturally penetrate the flow when the operating pressure, which is higher than the natural osmotic pressure, is dropped on the concentrated solution's side. The water molecules in the influent concentrated solution will travel in the opposite direction and cross the reverse osmosis membrane to become the filtered water on the dilute solution side. All soluble salts and organic compounds with a molecular weight larger than 100 can be blocked by reverse osmosis equipment, although water molecules can still pass through. The salt rejection rate of reverse osmosis composite membranes is often higher than 98%.
