What are the many types of control cables?
VDE Standards classifies control cables into three types: CY, YY, and SY.
Electrical:
1. The dc resistance: the final cable's conductive wire core dc resistance at 20 °C is not larger than 5.09/km.
2. Insulation resistance: the final insulation resistance of cable at 20 °C should be no less than 1014. Cm, and the finished cable insulation resistance at 90 °C should be no less than 1011.
3. Sheath surface resistance: the resistance of the finished cable sheath surface should be more than 109.

PV solar cable and wire has ratings of 600V, 1000V, and 2000V and is suited for both ac and dc systems.It is rated at 90,105,125, or 150°C dry and 90°C wet.
Single conductor, insulated and non-integrally jacketed, sunlight resistant photovoltaic wire rated for 90°C wet or dry, 600V for interconnection wiring of grounded and ungrounded photovoltaic power systems as described in Section 630.31 (And other applicable parts of the National Electric Code (NEC), NFPA 70).
Ratings only apply to certain gauge sizes.
