In 1966, five individuals who were determined to manufacture high-altitude balloons established a business in the St. Paul, Minnesota, suburbs. They called it Pentair, derived from the Greek words "penta" for the five founders and "air" for the goods they intended to manufacture. With rapid diversification, Pentair entered a wide range of industries before concentrating its portfolio on sustainable applications and water treatment. This includes purchasing well-known brands, some of which have been around for 150 years.
