The basic idea of operation is that calcium and magnesium ions in raw water are absorbed by ion exchange resin. The multi-way valve modifies the flow channel to allow the equipment to absorb the saturated brine of the regeneration agent once the saturation level is reached. Wastewater is used to release the sodium ions from the saturated brine, which replace the calcium and magnesium ions in the water. The ion exchange resin regains its adsorption capacity following replacement. Water is constantly purified by repeating the cycle.
