Ca and Mg ions cause permanent hardness in water. Hardness is one of the undesirable parameters to be seen in water due to reasons such as corrosion, limestone formation, prevention of soap foaming, and diseases caused when used as drinking water.

The degree of hardness of water is classified as follows:

Very Soft Waters 0 - 7 F
Soft Waters 7 - 14 F
Medium Hard Waters 14 - 21 F
Extremely Hard Waters 21 - 32 F
Very Hard Waters 32 - 54 F

Water softeners work on the principle of ion exchange. The purpose here is to capture Ca and Mg ions from the resin loaded with Na ions and remove them from the water. Parameters such as the dimensions of the device, the amount and class of resin to be used, the rate of water passing through the resin column, and the contact time; It is calculated in detail by the expert staff of Ecolifesistem. Softening devices are controlled by automation. Depending on the time or flow rate, the maximum load required for the resin is controlled. Thus, when the device's capacity is full, the regeneration phase can be started. Water without sediment and other impurities enter the device under pressure from the inlet point. Thanks to the diffusers, the water in contact with the surface and the resin lose its hardness and are given to the operation from the exit point of the device. The resin column whose capacity is full cleans itself with the previously prepared regeneration solution (NaCl). Wastewater generated during cleaning is properly removed from the system. This process is completely automatic. The operator is only responsible for replenishing the sodium chloride in the regeneration tank.
