It can be applied to the treatment of industrial and process wastewater, as well as advanced municipal wastewater treatment (3rd and 4th treatment stages), to give customized process solutions that are matched to particular needs and circumstances.
Style and Purpose
The HUBER Sandfilter CONTIFLOW® is an upflow filter designed for deep beds that continuously cleans the filter bed to fulfill even the strictest effluent quality standards. Because there are no backwash cycle shutdowns required for the sand cleaning operation, the system is incredibly efficient. Concrete basin or steel tank designs are offered for the HUBER Sandfilter CONTIFLOW®. Because of its modular design, any throughput will be handled optimally. A set of feed radials at the bottom of the filter allows the feed to enter the Sandfilter. The solids present in the influent are held in the filter sand as it moves through the sand bed from bottom to top. At the top of the filter, a weir allows the filtrate to depart. The airlift pipe, which is situated in the middle of the filter, draws the sand bed and the collected solids down to the trough bottom. The mix is moved upward to the sand washer by the airlift. A tiny amount of the filtrate flow is used within the washer to separate the particles from the filter sand. There is an internal sand circulation created as the clean sand falls through to the bed.
