Low solids content can be eliminated from drinking water, well water, and process water using an HSF sand filter. The primary control valve of the filter allows for automated functioning, scheduled backwashing with raw water and, through a floating contact, the stopping of downstream machinery while backwashing. There is an option for a skid version with municipal water backwash.
Terms of usage:

  • Less unfiltered water is available during backwashing.
  • With sizes 1C through 4C, there is momentarily no water available when the main control valve is switched.
  • A BP bypass valve must be installed if water is to be supplied constantly.
  • A service valve (BV) must be installed if only filtered water is to be delivered.
  • To guarantee adequate backwashing, it is also required to unpressurize the filtrate line.
  • The installation of an aeration and deaeration valve BEV is required if negative pressure can arise in the filter (for example, during operation prior to a pressure increase or RO).
