Commercial Seawater RO membrane filtration water treatment Plant is used to remove salt and purify water. This system consists of a booster pump, FRP/Carbon Steel pretreatment tanks (sand filter, activated carbon filter), cartridge filter housing, chemical dosing systems, high-pressure pump, FRP membrane pressure vessel, 2540 or 4040 membranes, control panel, and touch screen control.
Material and parts brands can be changed as regards raw water quality and customer demand. From the touch screen panel, you can see all system flow diagrams and automatic or manual control of the system. Membranes do not allow small particles, viruses, or bacteria to pass as a result your water becomes very clean and safe.

All RO Seawater membrane filtration water treatment plants are started from a booster pump, which feeds raw water to pretreatment tanks. Depending on capacity pretreatment tank size and numbers can be changed. Because of High TDS (total dissolved solid) and salt water’s corrosion, we are using FRP or Carbon Steel material for pretreatment tanks. Pretreatment consists of Sand Media Filter Tank, Activated Carbon Filter Media Tank, and Softener Tank which has ion exchange resin inside, they are very important for commercial RO Desalination Machine.
Pretreatment is used to remove a large number of suspended solids, iron, turbidity, unwanted color, unpleasant taste, chlorine, sediment, organic contaminants, and odors. In pretreatment, we can control the following manual or automatic for seawater commercial water treatment systems.

After pretreatment water goes to the cartridge filter housing, we call it a security filter, In most applications, we are using FRP or PVC Plastic material for cartridge filter housing or Bag Filter Housing. There is a 1µm or 5 µm PP filter in the cartridge filter housing in Commercial Seawater Reverse Osmosis Desalination System.
After the cartridge filter housing, water goes to the membrane pressure vessel with a High-Pressure Pump, you have brand options for High-Pressure Pump (Grundfos, Danfoss, CNP, or Chunky) and it allows you to adjust your budget. The membrane housing shell inside depends on capacity we have 4040 or 8040 Membranes. For most of the projects we are using DOW Filmtec, Toray, Vontron, Hydranautics, and LG brand SW RO Membranes.
Membranes, in industrial Brackish Water Desalination Plants, are the most important part. They block if the size of the part is bigger than 0.001µm and the molecular weight is up to 150-250Dalton. It consists of impurities, particles, sugars, proteins, bacteria, dyes, and organic and inorganic solids.
Also, RO Seawater Desalination Plant can have chemical dosing at pretreatment or post-treatment, like anti scaling (antiscalant), antifouling, pH adjustment, Sterilization & Disinfection chemicals.
In Chunky when we check customer water analysis report, sometimes because of scaling and fouling problems, we can use CIP (Clean in Place) System, which washes the membrane in membrane housing and make the membrane life longer. Electrical Power of Industrial RO Desalination Machine
For sweaters, a commercial water treatment system needs 220-380V/50Hz/60Hz. For bigger capacity, because of the high-pressure pump, it needs 380V/415V 50/60Hz. As regards your SWRO Desalination Machine design, we will check your electrical supply and decide to fix the power for you.
