A Continuous Emission Monitoring System is built around a Protea 5000 In-Situ full spectrum Ultra Violet gas analyser that is coupled to a Protea Control Unit (CEMS). The Stack Mounted In-Situ Analyzer is an economical option for Continuous Emission Monitoring and Process applications since it monitors the stack gas without requiring any sample handling equipment. The water vapor in the stack gases is continuously monitored by the analyzer, which allows the polluting gases to be reported on a wet or dry basis.
In many CEMs and process applications, the Protea 5000 can monitor to several gas species, such as NO, NO2, N2O, SO2, NH3, TRS, H2S, and H2O. The heat from the analyzer probe guarantees that parts in contact with the stack gas are above the dew point, allowing the analyzer to be deployed in extremely corrosive environments like sulfuric and nitric acid facilities. International standards like US EPA 40 cfr Part 60 & 75 are met by the analyzer.
The Protea 5000 can fully automate zero and verification of the analyser and uses advanced diagnostics to continuously report health status with little maintenance or user interaction. In addition to saving installation costs, the Stack Mounted Protea 5000 can receive signals from nearby instruments such as oxygen, particulates (dust), and velocity. This allows the system to report monitored concentration normalized to oxygen or in mass units (kg/hr).
