The ion exchange system is a conventional water treatment method in which various anions and cations in water are replaced with anion and cation exchange resins. An ion bed system and an ion exchange mixed bed system are commonly used to create ultrapure and high purity water following reverse osmosis and other water treatment techniques. It is used to produce ultrapure and high purity water. One of the alternatives. The effluent conductivity can be as low as 0.2μS/cm, while the resistivity can exceed 5MΩ/cm. The effluent resistivity ranges from 5 to 18 MΩ·cm, depending on water quality and consumption needs. It is widely employed in the production of ultra-pure and high-purity water for the industrial and medical ultra-pure industries, including electronics, ion-exchange resin systems, boiler make-up water, and others.
Common procedure
The first step is to use cation and anion exchange resin to deionize water. After passing through the resin, the conductivity of the effluent water can be lowered to less than 10us/cm, and even less than 0.2μs/cm after passing through the mixed bed. However, the cost of producing water using this approach is relatively high, and there are too many particles and pollutants to meet the ideal requirements. The second: pretreatment (e.g., sand carbon filter and precision filter) + reverse osmosis + mixed bed process This technology is currently the most often utilized since reverse osmosis has a low investment cost and can remove more than 90% of the water ions, with the remaining ions removed by mixed bed exchange, resulting in an effluent water conductivity of roughly 0.2. This is by far the most common method.
