The ultrapure water unit is used to treat reverse osmosis permeate using electrodeionization (EDI), yielding a diluate with a typical conductivity < 0.2 μS/cm. It has a Siemens LOGO! controller and top-notch EDI modules installed.
Terms of usage:

  • The unit is intended to operate at 4–20 µS/cm for permeate conductivity, 10 mg/l for CO2, and free diluate discharge.
  • It is necessary to soften the feed water (less than 0.05 °dH) and use a reverse osmosis unit without a permeate buffer for treatment.
  • The permeate quality influences the diluate quality.

Controller PLC Siemens Logo
Resistance diluate without CO2 binding 5 MΩ x cm
Resistance diluate with CO2 binding 10 MΩ x cm
Recovery 90 – 95 %
Diluate backpressure max. 1.0 bar
Ambient temperature 5 - 40 °C
Free chlorine not detectable
Silica (SiO2) 0.5 mg/l
Silt density index (SDI) < 0.25
Feed water temperature 5 – 35 °C
Feed water pressure 2 – 4 bar
Pressure fluctuation ± 0.5 bar
pH value feed water 5.0 - 9.5

Utilization of Ultrapure Water Units (EDI)

  1. In order to further demineralize RO permeate.
  2. For microelectronics, power plants, and pharmaceutical or laboratory applications.

Advantages of Ultrapure Water Units (EDI)

  1. Reduce to a typical conductivity of less than 0.2 μS/cm.
  2. Ready to connect directly to a RO unit
  3. Entering PP
