Installed in the reverse osmosis system's feed, the limitron automatic hardness control device—which lacks a controller of its own—serves to safeguard the membranes by continuously checking the soft water for residual hardness. The device does not require any chemicals or water because the measuring mechanism relies on resin shrinkage or expansion. The limitron's potential-free change-over contact is linked to the equivalent digital input of a reverse osmosis system via a PLC or microprocessor controller. Should the limitron hardness control unit be provided pre-installed in the reverse osmosis system, it is also necessary to buy the article "Installation limitron in RO system" (art. no. 370 078).
Terms of usage:

Upstream of the hardness control device in the feed water line, an overpressure safeguard must be placed.
It is necessary to flush the spare sensor with soft water prior to installation and to soak it in soft water or permeate while storing it.
It is important to monitor the maximum contact load (according to the technical data) when attaching the potential-free changeover contact to the reverse osmosis control unit.
