UP TO 400V 30MA AC RCBO BREAKER
An AC RCBO (alternating current residual current breaker with overcurrent) is a safety device that combines the functions of an RCD (residual current device) and an MCB (miniature circuit breaker). It is designed to protect against electrical faults such as overcurrent, short-circuit, and earth leakage, ensuring safety for both people and electrical installations.
AC RCBO breakers play a crucial role in maintaining electrical safety in homes, offices, and industrial settings. By detecting and disconnecting electrical circuits during fault conditions, they help prevent fires, equipment damage, and electric shock hazards.
ACCORDING TO STANDARD IEC60898-1
IEC 60898-1 is an international standard that defines the requirements for RCBOs used in households and similar installations. It ensures that these devices meet stringent safety, performance, and reliability criteria. Compliance with this standard is crucial, as it provides a benchmark for the quality and effectiveness of RCBOs.
HOW OUR AC RCBO BREAKERS WORK
A. The Ac Current

AC RCBO breakers are designed to work with alternating current (AC) electrical systems, which are the standard for residential and commercial power distribution. AC current flows in both directions, periodically changing its direction and amplitude.
B. The Residual Current
The residual current is the difference between the current flowing into a circuit and the current flowing out. In a healthy electrical circuit, the incoming and outgoing currents should be equal. When an imbalance occurs, it usually indicates a fault, such as a short circuit or earth leakage. The AC RCBO breaker’s RCD function monitors the residual current and disconnects the circuit if the imbalance exceeds a predefined threshold.
C. The Overcurrent Protection
In addition to residual current protection, AC RCBO breakers also offer overcurrent protection, similar to MCBs. If the current flowing through the circuit exceeds the breaker’s rated capacity, it will trip, disconnecting the circuit and protecting against potential hazards like fire or equipment damage.
