Wherever there is a high concentration of suspended solids in raw or effluent, clarifiers are essential to the treatment of water. Clarifiers, which are present in practically all treatment plants, are usually shaped like circles or occasionally like rectangles. Gravity settling serves as the foundation for clarifier functioning. Heavier suspended materials settle in the clarifier because of the quiescent circumstances created in the clarifying zone. After that, the settled solids are directed toward the middle well, where scraper blade action facilitates the collection of sludge. This procedure helps to clarify and purify the liquid by enabling the separation and removal of suspended particulates from the water.
